Pelantikan Rektor Universitas Medan Area Periode 2025-2029

Universitas Medan Area (UMA) menggelar acara Pelantikan Rektor Periode 2025–2029 yang berlangsung dengan khidmat di Convention Hall Hj. Siti Mariani Harahap Lantai 3 Gedung Perpustakaan UMA.
Dalam acara tersebut, Prof. Dr. Dadan Ramdan, M.Eng., M.Sc. resmi dilantik sebagai Rektor Universitas Medan Area untuk masa jabatan 2025–2029.

Pelantikan dilakukan langsung oleh Ketua Yayasan Pendidikan Haji Agus Salim (YPHAS), Bapak M. Erwin Siregar, SE., MBA., dan disaksikan oleh Sekretaris serta Bendahara YPHAS, para Wakil Rektor, Direktur Pascasarjana, dan para Dekan Fakultas di lingkungan Universitas Medan Area.

Dalam sambutannya, Ketua YPHAS M. Erwin Siregar, SE., MBA. menyampaikan apresiasi dan harapan besar kepada Rektor yang baru. Beliau menekankan pentingnya sinergi antara Yayasan dan Universitas dalam mewujudkan pendidikan tinggi yang unggul, berkarakter, serta berorientasi pada kemajuan bangsa.

“Kami berharap Prof. Dr. Dadan Ramdan dapat terus membawa UMA menjadi kampus yang unggul, adaptif, dan berdaya saing global. Yayasan akan selalu memberikan dukungan penuh untuk penguatan mutu pendidikan, riset, dan pengabdian masyarakat di Universitas Medan Area,” ujar M. Erwin Siregar dalam sambutannya.


Pidato Rektor Universitas Medan Area: Membangun Kampus SEHAT Menuju Green Digital University

Dalam pidato perdananya, Rektor Universitas Medan Area, Prof. Dr. Dadan Ramdan, M.Eng., M.Sc., menyampaikan rasa syukur dan tekad untuk membawa UMA menuju era baru yang lebih maju dan berkelanjutan.

Rektor membuka pidatonya dengan kalimat mengutip UUD 1945 Pasal 31 ayat 3, yang menegaskan bahwa “Tujuan pendidikan adalah untuk meningkatkan keimanan, ketakwaan, dan akhlak mulia, serta untuk mencerdaskan kehidupan bangsa.”
Rektor menekankan dua nilai utama dari amanat konstitusi tersebut:

  1. Peningkatan spiritualitas dan akhlak – membentuk insan akademik yang beriman, bertakwa, dan berakhlak mulia.
  2. Pencerdasan kehidupan bangsa – menjadikan pendidikan sebagai sarana mencerdaskan masyarakat Indonesia secara menyeluruh.

Lebih lanjut, Prof. Dadan memperkenalkan konsep Kampus SEHAT, sebagai filosofi kepemimpinannya dalam memimpin Universitas Medan Area:

  • S – Spiritual: Kuat dalam nilai keagamaan.
  • E – Empathy: Peduli terhadap sesama.
  • H – Humanis/Humble: Menjunjung kemanusiaan dan rendah hati.
  • A – Agile: Lincah dan mudah beradaptasi terhadap perubahan.
  • T – Taggable: Bertanggung jawab dan dapat dipercaya.

Konsep “Kampus SEHAT” ini menjadi dasar dalam mendukung visi UMA menuju Green Digital University – Sustainable Campus, sebagaimana tercantum dalam Rencana Strategis UMA 2026–2029.
Program strategis ini mencerminkan komitmen UMA untuk menjadi kampus yang unggul, berdaya saing global, dan berdampak nyata bagi masyarakat.

“Kita akan memperkuat tridharma perguruan tinggi berbasis mutu dan keberlanjutan, didukung oleh sistem digital dan teknologi kecerdasan buatan (AI) guna menciptakan tata kelola yang efektif, efisien, dan berorientasi hasil,” tegas Prof. Dadan.

Beliau juga memaparkan empat pilar tujuan strategis UMA untuk periode kepemimpinannya:

  1. Peningkatan Profil Mahasiswa.
  2. Lulusan Unggul dan Profesional.
  3. Tata Kelola Berbasis AI dan OBE (Outcome-Based Education).
  4. Riset dan Hilirisasi Berdampak Nyata.

Selain itu, pengembangan Sumber Daya Manusia (SDM) menjadi fokus utama melalui dua strategi kunci:

  • Re-Skilling: Penguatan kembali kompetensi dosen dan tenaga kependidikan.
  • Up-Skilling: Peningkatan keterampilan agar siap menghadapi era digital dan globalisasi.

Sebagai penutup, Prof. Dadan menegaskan bahwa seluruh elemen UMA harus bersinergi dalam semangat Kolaborasi, Inovasi, Keberlanjutan, dan Dampak Nyata.

“Dengan sinergi dan komitmen bersama, kita wujudkan UMA sebagai kampus unggul, inovatif, dan berkarakter yang terus memberi manfaat nyata bagi masyarakat dan bangsa,” ujar Rektor UMA mengakhiri pidatonya.
